Spam / Virus Info
In Internet terms, spam refers to junk email—any email, usually commercial, that gets sent to a large number of Internet users without their consent.
A virus is a harmful program that hides itself in other innocent programs. At best, they're annoying. At worst, they can destroy the data on your computer.
Some unscrupulous companies try to gather your personal information or force you to visit their websites without your consent, using a kind of program called spyware. If your computer is behaving strangely, or it keeps taking you to websites you don't want, or you have a weird or annoying program on your computer which you can't get rid of, you may have been infected with spyware. You can find more info on spyware, with tools to help you detect and remove it, at http://www.spywareinfo.com/.
